Abstract: In order to understand the quality status of organic fertilizer products in the suburbs of Beijing, and to find out the contents of nutrients and heavy metals in organic fertilizer raw materials, the raw materials and finished products of commercial organic fertilizer were investigated. The samples were selected from 14 organic fertilizer plants in the suburbs of Beijing, and the contents of nutrients and heavy metals in the samples were detected. The contents of total nutrient and organic matter in some organic fertilizer products were not up to the standard, and the contents of heavy metals exceeded the standard. The contents of total nutrients and organic matters were different among varied types of raw materials, and the contents of total nutrients and organic matters were also different in the same kind of raw materials in different batches. The contents of Cr、Hg、As didn’t exceeded the national standards, but the content of Cd、Pb、Cu、Zn exceeded the national standards in certain factories. The Cu content exceeded in the largest proportion, and there were 28.6% samples exceeding the standards. The contents of heavy metal were different among varied types of raw materials, the content of heavy metals in cow manure, chicken manure and sugar residue is generally higher.
