Abstract:
As the main product of plant carbon assimilation, litter is an important source of soil organic carbon pool. Based on the data of CNKI and WOS from 1989 to 2022, the author used CiteSpace and VOSviewer to visualize the literature about publication trends, partnerships between teams, institutions and countries, and journal influence for a systematically understanding of the effects of litter decomposition on soil carbon pools. This paper concludes that domestic and international articles published in this field have a rising tendency, this paper concludes that domestic and international articles published in this field have a rising tendency. China ranks the second only to the USA, accounting for 27.8% of global publications, indicating that Chinese researchers have made important contributions to research in this field, but the overall impact is lower than that of developed countries of Europe and the United States. America and France have the highest integrated influence and Britain and Switzerland have higher citations. The keywords, such as litter decomposition, organic matter, climate change, carbon cycle, and carbon storage, are the hotspot research themes in this field in recent years. International cooperation should be strengthened in the future, and China should focus on the response of litter decomposition characteristics to climate change and environmental pollution, improve the research level, and timely transform the research results into the study of carbon emission reduction and carbon sinks enhancement.
