Abstract:
Objective The purpose of this experiment was to select suitable Sorghum bicolor × S. sudanense varieties for cultivation in the saline-alkali soil region of the North of Yinchuan, Ningxia, and to ameliorate the salinized soil in the area.
Method Five varieties, namely BL0007, BL0029, BL7001, BL Haide, and BL7006, were tested by a field experiment in Dongfeng Village, Gaozhuang Township, Pingluo County, Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The experiment systematically measured their primary agronomic traits, physiological indices of stress resistance, and the physicochemical properties of the cultivated soil. Additionally, the grey relational analysis method was employed to evaluate the nine primary agronomic traits and eleven key soil physicochemical indices for each of the five varieties.
Result ① In terms of production performance and adaptability, BL Haide and BL7001 exhibited superior performance in reducing the degree of soil salinization and alkalization, improving soil aeration conditions and enhancing the content of soil nutrients. ② Regarding the impact on soil physicochemical properties, BL0007 and BL Haide demonstrated significant effects in reducing soil salinity, improving soil texture and enhancing soil fertility.
Conclusion Based on the comprehensive evaluation using the grey relational analysis method, BL Haide was found to be more suitable for promotion and cultivation in the North of Yinchuan region of Ningxia compared to the other varieties.
