Objective In response to the problems of fuzzy zoning and unclear technology promotion targets for protective tillage in the black soil of Northeast China, typical counties were selected for suitability evaluation of protective tillage, and spatial zoning of key technologies was carried out, in order to provide decision-making services and technical support for government departments in formulating protective tillage plans and deploying key techniques.
Method Using the current land use status map of Changtu as the minimum evaluation unit, a suitability evaluation index system for conservation tillage was constructed using methods such as Analytic Hierarchy Process and Delphi Method. The suitability level of conservation tillage in Changtu was clarified, and the spatial layout of conservation tillage models was delineated using classification method.
Result According to the suitability of conservation tillage, the cultivated land in Changtu County was divided into four categories: highly suitable, suitable, barely suitable, and unsuitable. Among them, the cultivated land area suitable for conservation tillage was the largest, accounting for 53.34% of the total cultivated land area in the study area. The others were the highly suitable and barely suitable types of cultivated land, accounting for 24.80% and 21.26%, respectively. The area of unsuitable arable land was the smallest, accounting for only 0.60%. The spatial layout of relevant technical models for the conservation tillage suitable area in Changtu County included three types: "wide-narrow row" model, "two-zero row" model, and "uniform row" model. Among them, the cultivated land area suitable for "wide narrow row" model was the largest, accounting for 56.24% of the total cultivated land area in the study area. The other was suitable for the "two-zero row" mode, accounting for 41.15%. The suitable area for the "uniform row" mode was the smallest, accounting for only 2.01%.
Conclusion Overall, the topography, surface and profile characteristics of cultivated land in Changtu County are good, and the vast majority of cultivated land is suitable for conservation tillage. The "wide narrow row" and "two-zeor row" modes are the main technical modes of conservation tillage in the study area.
